Ready or not, Halloween is just under 3 weeks away! That’s right, it’s time to start planning out your costume…but who has the time?! If you’re like us, you love a great DIY, and it’s even better when it involves an excuse to shop!
We stormed the warehouse in a flurry, searching far and wide for the best pieces for an awesome and easy-to-recreate costume idea using SI favorites. The outcome? Well, what do you get when you combine the Miranda Plaid Shirt, To the Moon and Back Jeans, Open Road Ankle Booties, throw on some quick makeup and top it all off with a simple headpiece? An absolutely adorable scarecrow, why of course!
Follow this step-by-step guide to Get the Look this Halloween!
First comes the makeup:
With a little help from KENZLEY MAKEUP, we were able to achieve a super sweet scarecrow look with just a few simple steps!
We used:
– KENZLEY Dual Tip Eye Definer Pen
– KENZLEY 5 Shade Eyeshadow
– KENZLEY Bronzer
– KENZLEY Matte Liquid Lipstick in Vintage
– False eyelashes
– Black eyeshadow
Eyes:
Using the KENZLEY 5 Shade Eyeshadow palette, carefully apply the darkest shade to the crease and blend. Apply the lightest shade to the inner corners of the eye. Using the KENZLEY Dual Tip Eye Definer, apply a thin line to the upper lashline. Finally, finish off by carefully applying false lashes or a coat of KENZLEY Lengthening Mascara.
Cheeks:
Using the KENZLEY Bronzer, gently brush onto cheekbones.
Nose:
Gently swirl a copper or bronze eyeshadow on the tip of the nose. Using the KENZLEY Dual Tip Eye Definer Pen ultra fine tip side, create thin lines around the outside of the shape by applying gentle strokes.
Patches:
Using a dark eyeshadow and a shadow brush, create triangular and circular shapes on the face. Then, using the KENZLEY Dual Tip Eye Definer Pen ultra fine tip side, gently create thin lines along the outer edge of the shapes.
Lips:
Using the KENZLEY Matte Liquid Lipstick in Vintage, carefully apply to lips. Once the product is fully dry, using the KENZLEY Dual Tip Eye Definer Pen ultra fine tip side, gently create thin lines along the outside of the lips. Extend slightly past the lips to the cheeks.
Hair:
Use a flatiron or large barrel curling iron to create loose waves. Brush out with fingers to create a tousled effect. Split the hair into two sections. Using string, wrap it around the hair 4-5 times and tie in a bow. Repeat on other side. (If you do not have string, you can easily use hair elastics as a substitute).
To get the look for this adorable scarecrow costume, pair your fav Miranda Plaid Shirt with the To the Moon and Back Jeans. Finish it off with the Open Road Ankle boots and an old straw hat or adorable headpiece from your local costume store, and voila! Scarecrow chic!
With Jen looking this good, we just had to take this costume out to the fields for a pre-Halloween spin! The final step for this look? Get out there and have fun!!
Happy Halloween from Silver Icing!
